This $235M design-build project includes three, new cast-in-place segmental bridges with span lengths of (260’, 360’, 260’) built in balanced cantilever. This highly aesthetic bridge is designed to blend into the natural surroundings. To minimize impacts to the river and surrounding area, this bridge is being constructed using a top-down construction method.

Because the Wekiva River is designated as an Outstanding Florida Water and a National Wild and Scenic River, the design-build team is adhering to strict environmental requirements to protect the environment and wildlife in this preserve. This includes limiting impacts to the river, trees and approach sections and construction of wildlife bridges totaling 23,000 feet in length and maintaining the recreational value of the river during construction.

FINLEY is the Engineer of Record (E.O.R.) and the construction/specialty engineer for these three cast-in-place segmental bridges. Additionally, FINLEY’s scope of work includes cofferdam, pier table falsework design, end-span falsework design, and form traveler design review.
